Velocity chapters 8 and 9

                Billy went into his house to see if anyone was there.  He didn't see anything strange at all in his house.  After looking around for a while he noticed that his spare key that he hadn't used for over 5 months was lying on the counter.  The first note was gone.  He realized that Lanny was the only one who knew where the spare key was.  He called Lanny and got no answer.  He kept waiting and waiting for a call.  He never got one and decided not to go to the police because he didn't want the young mother to die.  He went to bed and awoke at 1:40 am to the phone ringing.  He ran to the phone and yet again there was a silent caller.  When the caller hung up, he dialed *69 and pushed redial.  The phone continued to ring without an answer.  The number that came up on the screen of the phone was Lanny’s.
